The Real Mama Bears know how to celebrate Pride.Â
Who are the Real Mama Bears? A group of parents supporting, Educating & Empowering Families with LGBTQ+ members & advocating for the LGBTQ+ Community
We met Liz from the Real Mama Bears years ago after seeing a letter that they wrote to Dan Levy after the wrap of Schitts Creek. The letter spoke about the impact the show and his character had on the LGBTQ community and how thankful they were to him and his bravery.
After watching the Netflix episode, Lex and I reached out and wanted to see how we could help. We attended a facebook live with the Real Mama Bears Facebook Group and hosted a giveaway of our plushies and books.Â
Then we joined the Real Mama Bears Giving Circle as Inklings main charitable giving. The Mama Bears Giving Circle awards grants to nonprofits that specifically exist to support and serve the LGBTQ+ community.Â
Since starting the Mama Bears Giving Circle in 2022 we have awarded awarded more than $384,000.00 to organizations that support and serve the LGBTQ+ community.
Check out the below tips on how to celebrate Pride year round as an ally and go follow the Real Mama Bears on social media and donate to their Giving Circle.Â
